I have a good life. I have a wonderful wife (Barbara) and we love each other. I have two wonderful kids and 5 grandchildren (all girls). They all love Barbara and me and we love them. We have two dogs. They love anybody who will rub their bellies, but they are especially fond of Barbara and me. We love them too. I don't like to do dishes or pull/spray/dig weeds. Also, each year it seems that mowing the lawn becomes more boring. But these are minor
issues; they do not prevent me from having my good life.

I retired from Montana State University as a full professor of Statistics in 2009. I had been teaching and doing research at the University since 1984, the year that I completed a PhD in Statistics from Temple University. Prior to doing graduate work at Temple, I earned a PhD in Experimental Psychology from Baylor
University and then taught in the Psychology department at Pepperdine University (1975-1979). Prior to doing graduate work at Baylor, I earned a BA in Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. Prior to doing undergraduate work at St. Thomas, I was a H.S. student at PHS, but I can't say that I worked very hard---I didn't know that it mattered. I was wrong.

I still do mathematical/statistical research and writing, but now, I have more time for play. Except for late Winter/early Spring, Barbara and I split our time between our Bozeman MT home and our Absaroka Mountains cabin. In late Winter/early Spring we migrate to the Tucson AZ area. Wherever we are, we spend much time outdoors. In particular, we hike, backcountry ski, and snowshoe. I also enjoy biking (the self-propelled variety) and mountaineering.
